Isabela Moura
CrossFit Coach, Specialty Olympic Lifting
Isabela was born in a small town where she spent her youth riding bikes, playing in the waterfalls and discovering nature. Since she was young, Isabela has been adventurous and someone who can’t sit still. Movement has always been an important part of her life.
At age 14 through to age 18, Isabela became a competitive mountain biker and entered many competitions. This led to a passion for sport, and naturally, Isabela decided that she wanted to help others love sport and movement too. She found a way of doing that through physical education.
While studying Kinesiology in university, Isabela also was exposed to many disciplines and particularly enjoyed kickboxing, jujitsu, swimming, trail running, functional training, kickboxing, and weightlifting. After graduating with a B.A. in Kinesiology, Isabela continued towards a specialized degree, focusing on youth and fitness. It was during these last few years of university, that Isabela discovered CrossFit.
She needed little convincing before helping a fellow student open a CrossFit gym where Isabela worked as a full-time coach for 6 years. CrossFit allowed her to help so many people and grow an incredible community. During these years, Isabela earned her CrossFit Level 2 and until today she talks about the CrossFit methodology, atmosphere and the ability to overcome obstacles. Isabela has a particular passion for beginners and loves seeing their journey from the new nervous student to the confident athlete. It warms her heart to see her students making progress and chasing a healthier lifestyle.
Isabela was also active in the broader CrossFit community where she volunteered as a judge for local events and competitions. It was through this commitment that Isabela judged a wonderful man who became her future husband.
Isabela has moved to Toronto and now brings her incredible energy, positive vibes and coaching skills to the athletes of AIO.
